About Me

Mr. Benson Olujimi Akinde is a seasoned legal practitioner and administrator with cognate experience in private practice and public administration. He possesses diverse experience in corporate governance, corporate secretaryship and corporate administration.

 Akinde bagged a first Degree in Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1988 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989. He also obtained a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Lagos in 2004.

 After his call to Bar, Akinde began private practice at the Law Office of Fasade, Olowu & Co where he practised for a number of years and contributed actively to the growth of the Chambers, winning a number of landmark cases. The search for new adventures and fresh challenges brought him to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in the year 2000, where he was employed as a Principal Legal Officer.

His antecedents in aviation administration and achievements in the Legal Department have contributed to his rise to the position of Acting Company Secretary of the NCAA where he coordinates the activities of the Board, ensures that award of contracts follow the due process and are in line with the Procurement Act 2007, amongst other key responsibilities.

 Asides his professional law degrees, he also possesses a Diploma in International Air Law and a Diploma in Civil Aviation Management, both from International Air Transport Association. He has also attended courses on Aviation and Management at Cranfield University, UK, FAA Training Centre, Oklahoma, USA, International Law Institute, Washington, USA, Singapore Aviation Academy, amongst others. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb).
